Tree New Mexico is proud to announce that in March 2007, we planted our millionth tree! Since our founding in 1990, we have partnered with virtually every community in the state to keep New Mexico clean, beautiful, and healthy. With the success in achieving this milestone, we are now launching our new program, “Plant a Million More”, and our first Membership Campaign.

Why should YOU join Tree New Mexico in helping us Plant a Million More? Because 85 cents of every dollar donated to us goes directly to tree planting and educational programs!

The benefits of trees are enormous. Trees will:

• Provide shade and blocking wind to reduce energy usage (10 to 30%) and save money
• Reduce the effect of urban “heat islands”
• Absorb carbon dioxide (one ton each!)
• Capture dust and other pollutants
• Abate storm water run-off, reduce erosion, and recharge our aquifers

Tree New Mexico has a proven track record of success and 17 years of experience. We partner with communities throughout New Mexico, from Alamogordo to Zuni, working with government agencies, Native American tribes, nonprofits, civic organizations, volunteer groups, neighborhoods, schools and more.

We have received more than 30 local and national awards for excellence in tree planting and restoration work, volunteer involvement, and education programs.
