Tree New Mexico Board of Directors


Board Officers

    Patrick V. Holman, President
    Patrick currently serves as the Director of Facilities, Planning and Management for College of Santa Fe and has been with the college for more than seven years. One of his proudest accomplishments at CSF was to establish the College as the first institution of higher education in the State of New Mexico to be an inaugural member of the PNM Sky Blue wind energy program. Patrick has more than 20 years experience in commercial and residential landscaping. He has a strong commitment to sustainable urban forests and has personally planted more than 5,000 trees. Patrick holds a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Education with a concentration in Socio-Horticulture and Horticulture Therapy, and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture with a concentration in Landscape Contracting, both from Oklahoma State University. He is a Certificated Master Gardener with the Washington State University Cooperative Extension Program, and has also completed the program in New Mexico and Oklahoma.

    Catherine Conran, Vice President
    Catherine is employed by the PNM Resources Foundation as the Community Liaison. She oversees the PNM Resources Foundation’s operations and is responsible for reviewing hundreds of grant applications every year. As part of the Foundation’s outreach, she conducts grant-writing workshops for a variety of schools and non-profit organizations along with assisting with volunteer outreach. Prior to joining the PNM Resources Foundation, she worked as a fundraiser and a program development coordinator and stays involved in numerous community organizations. Catherine holds an MA Environmental Studies from Baylor University.

    James A. Maddox, Treasurer
    Jim was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in Bosque Farms, New Mexico. The 4H was a major part of his life as animals, plants and trees have always been of interest. Jim developed a rural area watering system to keep juvenile trees, shrubs and even gardens alive in remote areas without access to well water! He is the owner of Jim’s Automotive, an Auto mechanic and Repair Shop and has been active with Tree New Mexico and a member of the Board of Directors for over 15 years.

    Sarita Nair, Secretary
    Sarita Nair is a lawyer at the firm of Sutin, Thayer & Browne, practicing in the areas of business, water and environmental law. Sarita joined the Tree New Mexico board to maintain her connection to her earlier work as a natural resource planner.


Board Members

    Nancy Reisbeck, Member
    Nancy serves as the Past Chair on the Board of Directors of Tree New Mexico. She earned her degree at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, and is currently the Vice President of Human Resources/Safety for Gardner Zemke Construction. Nancy is also a member of the New Mexico Apprenticeship Assistance Act, State Advisory Committee.

    Betta Eisenberg, Member
    Betta serves on the Board of Directors of Tree New Mexico. She earned her degree at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Since graduating, she has been employed at Intel Corp in Rio Rancho New Mexico, where she is currently an Equipment Manager.

    Jack Welge, Member
    Jack is a member of the Board of Directors and has been a Tree New Mexico volunteer for more than 12 years. He is a retired Vice President from the Concrete Bar Service Bureau where he worked for 40 years.

    Suzanne Probart, Executive Director (non-voting)
    Suzanne Probart, Executive Director of Tree New Mexico, has guided Tree New Mexico on a shoestring budget into a nationally recognized and commended environmental tree planting and education organization. She currently serves as a founding board member of the National Urban and Community Advisory Council, Alliance for Community Trees, the NM Tree Planting Advisory Committee, Holistic Management International, and the Albuquerque Energy Council. Suzanne also helped Navajo agencies and government officials establish Navajo Nation Arbor Day, and assist other communities in earning their Tree City USA designations.


Board Members Emeritus

    Robert and Patricia Gooch (Retired)
    Pat Gooch is a founding member of Tree New Mexico. She also served as the Volunteer and Seedling Program Coordinator for Tree New Mexico for eleven years. Longtime interests in sciences, environment & spirituality. Bob Gooch was employed for 38 years in semi-conductor industry and retired from Intel Corp. He also served in the U.S. Army for three years and continues to serve as Tree New Mexico volunteer when possible.
